Little Mermaid: (Rated G)
Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World."
Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

Meet the Director!

Robert Mintz is a performer/director/choreographer based primarily in Washington, DC. He has performed at major regional theatres up and down the East Coast from New York City down to Florida. As a director and choreographer, Robert works frequently on the university level and at smaller professional theatres. Some of his favorite shows he has directed include “Lucky Stiff,” “Into the Woods,” and “Urinetown.” Robert’s favorite kind of shows to direct are ensemble-driven theatre pieces, where the entire company comes together to tell a story.
I grew up doing community theatre and have so many happy memories from that time in my life. I’m excited to create new memories with everyone at Sheboygan Theatre Company working on “The Little Mermaid.” Having performed in the show in the past, I’m eager to return to it this time as a director and choreographer. It’s a timeless story with such universal themes; I know we’ll create a magical and touching production for the STC audiences to enjoy!
