British Playwright Tom Stoppard, who went on to write the screenplay for Shakespeare in Love, takes on a satirical, behind-the-scenes perspective of the two somewhat minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet. The play takes place mainly "in the wings" of Hamlet, with brief moments from the original play. Between these episodes, the main characters express their confusion about the events occurring around them, of which they never really receive any direct knowledge.

HISTORY OF STUDIO PLAYERS
Studio Players, an unconventional black box theatre experience, was created in 2012 as a unique alternative to the main stage productions at Sheboygan Theatre Company (STC). Black box theatre is like a blank canvas for performances—it's a simple, adaptable space where actors and audiences can get up close and personal for a more intimate and flexible show experience.
Studio Players strives to offer content that is thought-provoking, engaging, and entertaining while welcoming a broad range of experience levels. Works containing adult themes, contemporary issues, and/or language are explored within our productions.
Taking advantage of the experience and talent of some of STC’s most dedicated volunteers, Studio Players launched three sold-out productions in the Fall and Winter of 2012 and the Spring of 2013. Studio Players expanded its season to include a Summer production in 2013, creating a four-production season featuring two dramas and two comedies.
Since then, Studio Players has staged a variety of productions in venues around Sheboygan, and continues to engage audiences in distinctive and unexpected ways.
