The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. This dark, musical comedy has a few twists and turns as we learn of the consequences of wishes coming true.

"We've been attending STC shows for roughly twenty years. This production is one of its finest. The on-stage performers are outstanding: talented actors, excellent vocals, believable character portrayals, all telling a story with a wide range of emotion. The pit orchestra was superb; they tackled this score with artistic excellence. The technical aspects were spot-on: a very compelling set, terrific sound effects, and mood-creating lighting. The staging was creative and very engaging."
