When traveling salesman Harold Hill arrives in River City, Iowa, he plans to swindle the townspeople with a fake boys’ band and disappear before anyone can catch on. Instead, his bluster and charm begin to transform the community, especially reserved librarian Marian Paroo, who sees more in him than a simple con man. With rousing marches, rich ballads, and familiar favorites, The Music Man follows a town learning to trust, listen, and believe in the power of music.​
