All Is Calm tells the true story of the Christmas Truce of 1914, when soldiers on opposing sides of World War I laid down their weapons and stepped into No Man’s Land. Through soldiers’ letters, journal entries, and period carols sung a cappella, the piece reveals how ordinary men chose humanity over violence for one brief, extraordinary moment. The result is a haunting reflection on memory, peace, and the cost of war.
